Our commitment to restoring the Cervia salt pans: a heritage to be preserved

Music and solidarity: the new bottle by Diego Bormida, presented at the Ferrara Summer Festival

The Ferrara Summer Festival demonstrates its commitment to supporting the Romagna region, which was hit hard by flooding last May.

On 16 July, before the concert of Fiorella Mannoia e Danilo Rea, against the splendid backdrop of the side terrace overlooking Ferrara's Piazza Trento Trieste, we presented a new limited edition bottle, made special thanks to the artist Diego Bormida, who decorated it with his creativity.

The artwork on the bottle represents a black and white portrait of the Cervia saltworks on one side, while in the other background triumphs a radiant sunrise and a rainbow, symbol of rebirth and hope. Diego Bormida was able to capture the essence of this place, which is located in the heart of Romagna and has Heavy damage due to storm surge. His artistic talent has enabled him to capture the beauty and importance of this salt mine, which represents a natural and cultural heritage of inestimable value.

For supporting the cause the reconstruction of the Cervia salt pans, 6,000 bottles were produced, each of which will help generate funds for a total of 25,000 euro. We will double this amount, donating a total of 50,000 euro to support the work of recovery and reconstruction of the salt pans.

During the official presentation of the bottle, they gathered prominent members of the community, including the Mayor Alan Fabbri, regional councillor Paolo Calvano, MP Mauro Malaguti and representatives of law enforcement agencies such as the provincial command of the Carabinieri and the Guardia di Finanza.

It is a gesture that emphasises the importance of interconnection between the different communities, united by UNESCO heritage representing both the wine-growing landscapes of Piedmont and the salt pans of Cervia.
